Born in Kabul, Afghanistan, Dr. Daud Panah earned his medical degree and completed his psychiatry residency at the University of Pennsylvania — one of the country's leading academic psychiatry programmes — before settling permanently in South Jersey.
For more than two decades he has cared for the Atlantic City community as both an attending psychiatrist and a consultant in the AtlantiCare emergency department, where he managed acute psychiatric crises, substance-use emergencies, and complex dual-diagnosis cases. That front-line experience shaped a calm, pragmatic clinical style that patients describe as both rigorous and deeply humane.
At Salamat, Dr. Panah makes high-quality psychiatric care accessible in a region where wait times often stretch for months. He treats anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, bipolar spectrum disorders, sleep disturbance, and burnout, and offers medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for alcohol, opioid, and nicotine use disorder.
Working alongside the longevity, hormone, and metabolic programmes at Salamat, he integrates psychiatric care with the rest of a patient's medical picture — because mood, sleep, hormones, and metabolism are inseparable. The result is a unified plan that treats the whole person, not just a single symptom.
