(Biography)

Dr. Abdullah Panah was born and raised on the Jersey Shore, the son of immigrants who fled decades of conflict in search of opportunity. A precocious student, he began medical school at just 19 years old, completed both his medical degree and Family Medicine residency at Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine (RowanSOM), and became a board-certified physician by the age of 26 — one of the youngest in the region.

He is triple board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, the American Board of Obesity Medicine (DABOM), and the American Board of Aesthetic Medicine, and practices as a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine — a tradition that treats the body as an integrated whole rather than a collection of symptoms. He has trained extensively in anti-aging medicine through the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M), in bioidentical hormone optimisation through Biote, and in injectables and facial aesthetics through the American Board of Aesthetic Medicine.

Dr. Panah has practiced across many of South Jersey and Philadelphia's leading health systems — Jefferson, AtlantiCare, Cooper, Virtua, Rowan, and the Veterans Affairs (VA) network — giving him a rare, system-wide view of how modern medicine actually serves the patients in front of him.

Fluent in Persian and English, he has travelled extensively throughout the world — through Japan, Israel, the Mediterranean, and the Afghan and Iranian communities of his upbringing — and his goal at Salamat is to weave the best practices he has encountered, from preventive longevity work abroad to evidence-based Western medicine at home, into one cohesive standard of care.

His clinical focus spans longevity and functional medicine, GLP-1 medical weight loss, bioidentical hormone replacement via the Biote method, and physician-administered aesthetic medicine. While medications have their place, Dr. Panah believes in explaining the science, prescribing sustainable lifestyle change, and helping patients reduce long-term dependence on pharmaceuticals whenever possible.

He practices what he preaches. Despite a schedule that spans Salamat Clinic, teaching at Rowan University, and managing Setaara, he eats a Mediterranean diet low in processed foods and trains for at least an hour every day — because the medicine he asks of his patients is the medicine he lives himself.
