CH 02
The healthspan argument

Living longer than our hormones were designed for.

A century ago, the average human lived into their mid-40s. Hormonal decline was simply not a chapter most people lived long enough to read. Today, medicine has doubled our lifespan — but without addressing the hormonal architecture that keeps us energised, sharp, and metabolically healthy, those extra decades risk becoming a slow fade rather than a vibrant extension.

Hormone replacement therapy is not about chasing youth. It is about restoring the internal signalling system that regulates mood, sleep, metabolism, libido, cognition, and cardiovascular health. When estrogen, progesterone, or testosterone weaken, patients are often handed a pill for fatigue, another for anxiety, and a third for weight gain — treating symptoms while the root cause goes unrecognised.

Our approach treats hormones as the physiological foundation they are. By replenishing what time has quietly depleted, we address the source of the symptoms — not the symptoms themselves — so you can enjoy a longer healthspan, not just a longer life.

Your route, your physiology

There is no house protocol here. We tailor the route of delivery to your physiology, your labs and your life — patch, cream, gel, oral or pellet. Each route has a different absorption curve, dosing rhythm and monitoring pattern, and the right one is the one your body responds to.

  • Patch — steady transdermal delivery, easy to adjust or stop
  • Cream or gel — flexible daily dosing, simple to titrate
  • Oral — convenient where clinically appropriate
  • Pellet — hands-off steady release over 3–5 months

The Biote Method — one of the options

Biote is the nation's leading bioidentical hormone optimisation platform, and Dr. Panah is a certified Biote provider. Its subcutaneous pellet therapy — tiny, custom-compounded pellets placed just beneath the skin — delivers a steady stream of bioidentical estrogen, progesterone or testosterone over 3–5 months. It suits patients who want a set-and-forget route, and it is offered alongside patch, cream, gel and oral options rather than in place of them.

  • Bioidentical — molecularly identical to your own hormones
  • Steady release for patients who prefer fewer touchpoints
  • Derived from plant compounds, not synthetic chemicals
  • Backed by 2.5 million+ pellet insertions nationwide

What we optimise

Before any therapy begins, we run a comprehensive metabolic and hormonal panel — thyroid, adrenal, testosterone (total and free), estradiol, progesterone, DHEA, SHBG, and cortisol. These labs reveal the imbalances behind fatigue, low libido, brain fog, stubborn weight gain, poor sleep, and mood instability.

  • Comprehensive labs & symptom mapping
  • Custom dosing for women & men over 40, by whichever route fits
  • Ongoing monitoring & dose refinement
  • Integrated with weight loss, psychiatry, and longevity plans

For women

Estrogen, progesterone & low-dose testosterone.

Perimenopause and menopause are not character flaws and they are not something to "just push through." Restoring estrogen and progesterone — and, when indicated, a small amount of testosterone — can dramatically improve sleep, mood, libido, cognition, body composition, and long-term bone and cardiovascular health.

Women have real choice here. We prescribe by patch, cream, gel, oral or pellet, and the route is chosen with you — based on your labs, your symptom pattern, your medical history and how much day-to-day involvement you want in dosing. Pellets are one good option, not the default.

Common symptoms we treat

  • Hot flashes & night sweats
  • Brain fog & memory complaints
  • Stubborn weight gain (especially abdominal)
  • Low libido & vaginal dryness
  • Mood swings, anxiety & irritability
  • Sleep disruption & insomnia
  • Loss of muscle tone & joint pain
  • Hair thinning & skin changes

Most patients begin with comprehensive labs, a symptom inventory, and a conversation about which route — patch, cream, gel, oral or pellet — fits best. The plan is yours, built around your physiology and your goals.

For men

Testosterone replacement therapy (TRT).

Testosterone declines roughly 1% per year after age 30. By the time most men feel "off," their labs are often well below optimal — even if they're still inside the lab's "normal" range. Physician-supervised TRT in NJ restores energy, libido, mood, body composition, and motivation, with safety monitoring built into every visit.

Common symptoms we treat

  • Persistent fatigue & low energy
  • Low libido & erectile changes
  • Loss of muscle mass & strength
  • Increased body fat (especially belly)
  • Brain fog & low motivation
  • Mood changes, irritability, low mood
  • Poor sleep & reduced recovery
  • Reduced morning erections

TRT is delivered by whichever route suits your physiology — patch, cream, gel, oral, self-administered injection or pellet, including the Biote pellet method for men who prefer it. We screen for prostate health, hematocrit, estradiol balance, and cardiovascular risk on every follow-up.

Frequently asked

HRT & TRT questions.

Where can I get hormone replacement therapy near me in NJ?

Salamat Clinic offers bioidentical HRT and TRT at 6 N Mississippi Avenue in Atlantic City, NJ — convenient for patients in Margate, Ventnor, Linwood, Northfield, Egg Harbor Township, Galloway, and the broader Jersey Shore. Dr. Abdullah Panah is a certified Biote provider and personally supervises every hormone plan.

What is bioidentical hormone replacement therapy?

Bioidentical hormones are molecularly identical to the estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone your body already makes. They are typically derived from plant compounds and compounded to match your physiology, rather than the synthetic analogues used in older conventional HRT. This allows precise, physiologic dosing calibrated from comprehensive lab work.

Do you offer testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) for men?

Yes. We treat low testosterone in men with bioidentical testosterone, and we tailor the route of delivery to your physiology — patch, cream, gel, oral or pellet. Every TRT plan starts with a full hormonal panel, metabolic screen, and prostate-safety workup, and is monitored on ongoing labs.

Do you offer estrogen and progesterone therapy for women?

Yes. We offer bioidentical estrogen and progesterone — and testosterone, when indicated — for perimenopause, menopause, post-hysterectomy support, and hormonal symptoms in women over 40. Delivery is matched to you: patch, cream, gel, oral or pellet, chosen from your labs, symptoms and preferences rather than a single house protocol.

What are the symptoms of low estrogen or low testosterone?

Common symptoms include fatigue, brain fog, low libido, poor sleep, stubborn weight gain, loss of muscle, mood changes, anxiety, hot flashes (in women), and reduced morning erections or strength (in men). Many patients are told these are 'normal aging' — they usually aren't. Comprehensive labs reveal what's actually going on.

▸ Insurance

Yes — we bill insurance.

We accept PPO and Medicare plans from Aetna, AmeriHealth, Horizon and UnitedHealthcare, including Clover Medicare and Humana Medicare.

We do not accept HMO plans, because we work alongside your primary care physician rather than replacing them.

If you have an HMO you are welcome as a self-pay patient — $250 for an initial evaluation, $150 for a follow-up — and we will still send your laboratory orders through your insurance.

Elective and wellness services are not covered by any insurer. Those are self-pay, and every rate is published on our pricing page.

CH FMD
Fasting Mimicking Diet

ProLon — a metabolic reset that complements hormone optimisation.

The Fasting Mimicking Diet (FMD) is a clinically studied, plant-based 5-day meal program developed by Dr. Valter Longo at USC. It puts the body in a fasted state while you continue to eat — triggering autophagy, lowering inflammation, and improving the metabolic terrain that hormones operate in.

For HRT and TRT patients, FMD cycles can improve insulin sensitivity, reduce visceral fat (a major driver of estrogen excess and low testosterone), and support sharper symptom relief from your hormone protocol.

Salamat Clinic receives a referral fee on ProLon orders placed through this link. We recommend it because we use it clinically, and it costs you no more than ordering direct.

  • Reduces visceral fat — a key driver of hormone imbalance
  • Improves insulin sensitivity and fasting glucose
  • Lowers inflammatory markers (CRP) that blunt hormone signalling
  • Supports lean mass retention while shedding fat
  • 5 days, one box — designed for patients with no time to meal-plan
